As we welcome the fall season, we hope you have been enjoying time to rest and rejuvenate for the months ahead!
In this era of rapid technological advancement, fintech is at the forefront of disruptive innovation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are revolutionizing the industry by enhancing everything from fraud detection and risk assessment to personalized financial advice. Additionally, blockchain technology and Big Data analytics are driving new thinking for financial products and services. As the fintech landscape embraces these transformative technologies, it opens up new opportunities for collaboration and competition, making this truly an exciting time for our industry.
Despite the fast pace of development and adoption, as well as the challenges of new technology, Generative AI holds immense promise. It can revolutionize content creation, streamline design processes, and enhance data analysis. As this technology continues to advance, it is vital that we approach its development and application responsibly and ensure that it serves the greater good of humanity.
At 28Stone, it is in our nature to embrace innovative technologies, including Generative AI, to stay at the forefront of software delivery and provide our clients with cutting-edge solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible. As always, understanding what our clients’ needs are is at the heart of everything we deliver. Let us know how we can help you explore the role of AI in your business.

Alberts Nurgalejevs
Java developer, team lead
1. Can you describe your role?
I lead a team of Java developers and provide support to Java developers within one of our clients. I am one of the initial 28Stone employees who began working with this client, and I actively participate in designing and implementing nearly all the approaches and solutions currently employed by multiple teams. I am involved in interviewing our new Java developers and I occasionally present at our team brown bag sessions whenever I encounter valuable insights to share.
2. What has been one of your career highlights?
I have gradually risen from the position of 'yet another developer' to become a principal developer for my client. Additionally, I mentor teammates whose expertise ranges from zero industry experience to that of full-grown programmers.
3. Tell us some trends you're seeing in this industry.
There is an obvious trend towards AI usage. Soon enough, we'll be busy finding bugs in code written by ChatGPT or its successors.
4. What might we find you doing for fun outside of the office?
I spend time with family and friends and always seek opportunities to engage in activities that contrast with my sedentary work, such as aikido (2nd dan aikikai), climbing, and rollerblading. Another hobby I have been dedicated to for the past 20 years, and plan to continue, is teaching programming to children.
COMPANY UPDATE: 28Stone TAKES HackCodex
Our team had a fantastic time coding, playing table hockey and discussing all things 28Stone with HackCodex and Helve earlier this summer!
World champion Atis Silis gave a great introduction to table hockey and played against the best participants of the event, adding an extra thrill to the day. We were also excited to present the award for the best project in the competition, "SkolaGuru". They developed an innovative tool to assist parents in selecting the ideal school for their child based on their interests and other factors. Congratulations to the SkolaGuru team!
